As Richard Erwin Harper sat on the elevated covered porch off his study, he thought about the best change in his life was when he moved to Florida and met Melissa Richardson.
By the end of June 2020, Melissa and Richard were married, and he had purchased the large Chadwick Grant Estate on North Casey Key.
The property was large with mature trees for privacy, a nice-sized swimming pool, tennis court, party house, and private boat dock on Little Sarasota Bay.
Harper's first private detective case in 2021 was the Shirley Fowler missing person case. She had been kidnapped by Ross Meyers, an old high school boyfriend. Harper found Shirley in an old rusted mobile home and he ended up putting a bullet between Ross Meyer’s eyes.
The next event was Monday, March 22nd. Harper had gone to a warehouse to meet a man, Brandon Lewis, who had called him earlier. He said he wanted Harper to check out thefts at his warehouse. The man's real name was Otto Dewitt. He was a clown for the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus. Why he kidnapped Harper will probably never be known.
Harper’s next case was Friday, May 14th. It was the Vicki Norris case. She was trying to find out about her background. She told Richard she didn’t know who she was or where she came from. Harper found out she was born in Riohacha La Guajira Providence, Columbia, South America, on April 1, 1994. Her mother was a young woman from a sex farm and she was sold to a California couple and then taken by her nanny to Florida.
Harper then quickly solved the large theft at billionaire Clarence Arterberry's estate on Longboat Key. He discovered the chauffeur had stolen money from a safe, but the Arterberry’s thought it was their butler.
The last case Harper worked on was the seven missing teenagers. This was one of the hardest cases he had ever dealt with. Some of the male teenagers were sexually assaulted and murdered and the females were beaten and assaulted while chained to a wooden plywood floor.
